| Disease | 10 OR 15 MG/KG/DAY WAS ADMINISTERED FOR FIVE WEEKS. EVERY 3RD WEEK EACH TREATED MALE WAS PAIRED WITH A PROESTROUS FEMALE FOR 8 DAYS AND THE FEMALE WAS AUTOPISED 7 DAYS AFTER COHABITATION. MALES RECOVERED FROM GOSSYPOL-STERILITY WERE DECAPITATED AFTER SIRING TWO LITTERS AND BLOOD WAS PROCURED FOR TESTOSTERONE, PRL AND LH DETERMINATIONS. ABOUT 60% OF THE SPERM WERE MALFORMED (EPIDIDYMAL),WITH DETACHED HEADS AND COMPLETELY IMMOTILE. STERILITY OCCURRED IN BOTH THE 10 AND 15 MG/KG/DAY GROUPS AFTER 12 WEEKS OF DOSING. |
