DiseaseDAILY DOSING FOR 3-6 WEEKS DID NOT NIHIBIT LYSINE-3H OR URIDINE-3H FROM BEING INCORPORATED INTO SPERMATOGENIC CELLS. THE ARGININE-3H LABELLING OF SPERMATIDS OF 11-19 STAGES WAS DECREASED. IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT SPERMATIDS OF LATE STAGE WHICH INCORPORATED ARGININE-3H SELECTIVELY FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF ARGININE-RICH HISTONESWERE MOST SENSITIVE TO THE ACTION OF GOSSYPOL. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INTERFERENCES WITH ARGININE-RICH HISTONE SYNTHESIS AND LOSS OF SPERM FERTILIZIN CAPACITY IS DISCUSSED.
