DiseaseDAILY DOSING,SIX DAYS EACH WEEK,FOR SIX MONTHS,FOLLOWED BY SACRIFICE OF ANIMALS AND EXAMINATION OF ORGANS AND TISSUES. NONE OF THE HEART,LIVER,SPLEEN,LUNG,KIDNEY,TESTIS OR SEMINAL VESICLES SHOWED PATHOLOGICAL CHANGES. THERE WERE NO OBVIOUS CHANGES IN LEVELS OF GLUCOSE-6-PHOSPHATE DEHYDROGENASE OR ATP-ASE ACTIVITIES IN THE KIDNEY. ACID PHOSPHATASE ACTIVITY WAS GREATER AT THE PROXIMAL AND DISTAL CONVOLUTED TUBULE. ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE ACTIVITY DIFFERED SLIGHTLY AT THE PROXIMAL CONVOLUTED TUBULE. IN THE LIVER, ATP-ASE,ALKALINE AND ACID PHOSPHATASE WAS UNCHANGED. GLUCOSE-6-PHOSPHATE DEHYDROGENASE WAS SLIGHTLY ELEVATED. ONLY OCCASSIONAL CELLS SHOWED INCREASED AND DECREASED LEVELS OF LIVER GLYCOGEN,GLUCOSE-6-PHOSPHATASE AND RNA,THE MAJORITY OF CELLS WERE NORMAL. LIVER GLYCOGEN WAS 61.76 MG/GM IN THE CONTROL GROUP AND 71.15 MG/GM IN THE EXPERIMENTAL GROUP, WHICH WAS NOT SIGNIFICANT.
