| Disease | MALE MICE WERE INTUBATED WITH THE TITLE COMPOUND(0-50 MG/KG/DAY) FOR 19 DAYS TO INVESTIGATE ITS EFFECTS ON THE SPERM CELL. AT LOWER CONCENTRATIONS THE COMPOUND HAD NO EFFECT ON THE FREQUENCY OF SISTER CHROMATID EXCHANGE IN THE SPERMATOGONIUM OR ON THE RATE OF CHROMOSOMAL ABERRATIONS IN THE SPERMATOGONIUM. AT 20-50 MG(CA. 50-125 FOLD THAT OF THE CLINICAL DOSES) GOSSYPOL MARKEDLY INCREASED THE FREQUENCY OF SISTER CHOROMATID EXCHANGE IN THE SPERMATOGONIUM, BUT HAD NO EFFECT ON CHROMOSOMAL ABERRATION. |
