| Disease | GOSSYPOL INDUCED A DOSE-DEPENDENT K+ LEAKAGE FROM BOAR SPERMATOZOA SUSPENDED EITHER IN KREBS-RINGER PHOSPHATE BUFFER OR AN ISOTONIC TRIS-HCL BUFFER. IT HAD PRACTICALLY NO EFFECT ON THE SPERMATOZOAL INTRACELLULAR NA+ CONTENT. AS SPERMATOZOAL MOTILITY ARREST WAS OBSERVED AT A MUCH LOWER GOSSYPOL CONCENTRATION, THE GOSSYPOL ANTIMOLITY EFFECT DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE STEMMED FROM K+ LEAKAGE. |
