| Disease | THE EFFECT OF GERMINATION,VARIETAL DIFFERENCES AND BOILING ON THE ISOFLAVONE CONTENT OF THE TITLE PLANT WAS STUDIED. THE AMOUNT OF ISOFLAVONE IN THE SEEDS INCREASED WITH DURATION OF GERMINATION. DIFFERENCES IN ISOFLAVONE CONTENT BETWEEN DIFFERENT VARIETIES WAS NOTED. BOILING OF GERMINATED SEEDS FOR 10 MINUTES UNDER 15 LB PRESSURE RESULTED IN 50% LOSS OF BIOCHANIN A AND FORMONONETIN. THE ISOFLAVONE CONTENT OF OTHER PULSES SHOWED THAT WHILE BLACK GRAM AND GREEN GRAM CONTAINED ONLY DAIDZEIN, RED GRAM SOYBEAN CONTAINED FORMONONETIN AND GENISTEIN, RESPECTIVELY, ALONG WITH DAIDZEIN. |
