| Disease | DAILY DOSING FOR 90 DAYS FOLLOWED BY 30/UCI 45-CACL2 SOLUTION. IN CONTROL ANIMALS, PLASMA 45-CA WAS 7.5 X 10(3) CPM IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT AND DRASTICALLY DECLINED THEREAFTER. IN EXPERIMENTAL ANIMALS, PLASMA 45-CA WAS 3 X 10(3) CPM IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT, PEAKED (3.5 X 10(3) CPM) 5 MINUTES LATER, AND GRADUALLY DECLINED THEREAFTER. 45-CA CONTENTS IN THE LIVER, HEART, KIDNEY, MUSCLE, SKIN AND BONE OF EXPERIMENTAL ANIMALS WERE LOWER THAN THOSE OF CONTROL ANIMALS. FECAL EXCRETION RATES OF 45-CA IN EXPERIMENTAL ANIMALS WERE GREATER THAN THOSE IN CONTROL ANIMALS. IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT SUPPLEMENTS OF CALCIUM MAY BE REQUIRED FOLLOWING PROLONGED ADMINISTRATION OF GOSSYPOL. |
