| Disease | EUGENOL IS EXCRETED PRIMARILY IN THE URINE. THE MAJOR METABOLITES ARE A SULFATE AND A GLUCURONIDE. VARYING THE DOSAGE CHANGES THE IMPORTANCE OF EACH OF THESE METABOLITES (AT LOW DOSES THE SULFATE PREDOMINATES, AT HIGH DOSES THE GLUCURONIDE). TWO OTHER METABOLITES ARE 3,4 DIHYDROXYPROPYLBENZENE, AND 3-METHOXY-4-HYDROXY-PROPYLBENZENE, WHICH WERE NOT DETECTED AT THE HIGHEST DOSE LEVEL. DOSES RANGED FROM 0.5-1000 MG/KG. |
