DiseasePROGESTERONE LEVELS WERE MARKEDLY DECREASED IN NON-PREGNANT RATS, HOWEVER, THEY WERE ALSO LOWER THAN IN CONTROLS, IN PREGNANT RATS GIVEN 60, 90 AND 120 MG/KG DOSES. SUPPLEMENTAL PROGESTERONE 4 MG Q.D. ONLY PARTIAL COUNTERACTED THE GOSSYPOL EFFECT. EMBRYOS THEMSELVES, AND THE UTERINE RESPONSE TO THE EMBRYOS, DID NOT SEEM TO BE AFFECTED.
