| Disease | DAILY DOSING FOR 21 DAYS. 3 OF 12 FEMALES EACH DEVELOPED A LARGE LUMP ON THE VENTRAL SURFACE OF THE NECK,WHICH SUBSEQUENTLY GREW TO ENVELOP THE NECK & INVADE THE TISSUES OF THE FRONT LEGS.NONE OF THE MALES DEVELOPED TUMORS (MYXOSARCOMA). CYTOGENETIC ANALYSIS OF THE TUMORS DEMONSTRATED A STEMLINE OF 78 CHROMOSOMES AND THE PRESENCE OF 3 MARKER(M) CHROMOSOMES PRODUCED BY ROBERTSONIAN TRANSLOCATION. TUMOR CELLS AT PASSAGE 1 THAT CONTAINED CHROMOSOMES M1 & M2 WERE NONTUMORIGENIC. CELLS AT PASSAGE 3 WERE TUMORIGENIC IN SYNGENEIC MICE AND SHOWED M1, M2 AND M3. THE PRESENCE OF M3 HAS BEEN IMPLICATED TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TUMORIGENIC PHENOTYPE. |
