BOTH DHEA AND DHEAS CAN BE CONVERTED IN PERIPHERAL TISSUES TO ANDROSTENEDIONE, TESTOSTERONE AND DIHYDROTESTOSTERONE, AND BOTH ARE AROMATIZED TO ESTROGENS. DHEAS ENTERS THE OVARIAN FOLLICLE AND CAN BE AN IMPORTANT SOURCE OF OVARIAN TESTOSTERONE.
