| Disease | AN 8-WEEK OPEN-LABEL TRIAL OF PLANT STANOLS ESTERS (PSES)-FORTIFIED MARGIINE LIKE SPREAD WAS CONDUCTED IN A COMMUNITY FO 500 SUBJECTS. 9 SUBJECTS UNDER WENT ANTICOAGULATION WITH WARFARIN ALL SUBJECTS RECEIVED ANTICOAGULANT THERAPY FOR AT LEAST 3 MONTHS BEFORE ENROLLEMENT IN THE STUDY. DAILY WARFARIN DOSES WERE TREATED TO ACHIEVE A TARGET IWR (INTERNATION NORMALIZED RATIO) OF 2.0 TO 3.5. THERE WERE NO CHANGES IN WARFIN DOSE RELATED TO PSE USE. AND NO CHANGES IN WARFARIN DOSE RELATED TO PSE USE. RESULTS SHOWED THAT PSES DO NOT SUBSTANTIALLY AFFECT VITAMIN K-DEPENDENT HEMOSTASIS IN PATIENTS RECEIVING WARFARIN. |
