| Disease | TOPICAL APPLICATION OF SILYMARIN AT A DOSE OF 6 MG PRIOR TO BENZOYL PEROXIDE (BPO) RESULTED IN A HIGHLY SIGNIFICANT PROTECTION AGAINST BPO-INDUCED TUMOR PROMOTION IN MOUSE SKIN. SILYMARIN WAS EVIDENT IN TUMOR REDUCTION IN TUMOR INCIDENCE, TUMOR MULTIPLICITY AND A DECREASE IN TUMOR VOLUME/TUMOR. EFFECTS OF SILYMARIN WERE PROTECTION AGAINST BPO-INDUCED DEPLETION OF SOD, CATALASE AND GPX ACTIVITY IN MOUSE EPIDERMIS. SILYMARIN ALSO RESULTED IN INHIBITION OF BPO-INDUCED LIPID PEROXIDATION AND EDEMA MYELOPEROXIDASE ACTIVITY AND INTERLEUKIN-1ALPHA PROTEIN LEVEL IN EPIDERMIS. |
