LOW CONCENTRATIONS OF PEPTIDE(0.1-3 NM) CAUSED A 12-FOLD INCREASE IN CAMP LEVELS WITHOUT AMYLASE RELEASE. THIS EFFECT WAS INHIBITED BY A CARBOXY TERMINAL FRAGMENT OF THE PEPTIDE, A COMPETITIVE INHIBITOR OF A PUTATIVE EXTENDING-3 RECEPTOR. |
