| Disease | 50 INPATIENTS AGED 57 TO 76 YEARS WITH CEREBRO-ORGANIC SYNDROME FROM A NEUROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT PARTICIPATED IN A PLACEBO-CONTROLLED DOUBLE-BLIND TRIAL TO STUDY THE EFFICACY OF THE GINKGO BILOBA SPECIAL EXTRACT L1 1370. AFTER A WASHOUT PHASE OF 14 DAYS, 6 WEEKS OF THERAPY WITH THE INTAKE OF 3 X 1 COATED TABLETS FOLLOWED ACCORDING TO A DAILY DOSAGE OF 150 MG OF VERUM TREATMENT. THE THERAPEUTIC EFFICACY WAS TESTED WITH 2 PSYCHOMETRICAL TESTS (VIENNA DETERMINATION TEST AND FIGURE CONNECTION TEST) AND 3 NEUROPHYSIOLOGICAL METHODS OF MEASUREMENT (SACCADIC EYE MOVEMENTS, EEG ANALYSIS AND MEASUREMENT OF THE EVOKED POTENTIALS). FOR ALL 5 TARGET CRITERIA A STATISTICALLY HIGHLY SIGNIFICANT SUPERIORITY OF ACTIVE TREATMENT (P-0,001) WAS SHOWN IN COMPARISON TO THE PLACEBO GROUP, WHICH APPEARED ONLY AFTER 3 WEEKS OF THERAPY AND BECAME MORE OBVIOUS AFTER 6 WEEKS. AT THE SAME TIME THE CLINICAL SYMPTOMS IMPROVED. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT THERAPY WITH THE GINKGO BILOBA SPECIAL EXTRACT L1 1370 IN PATIENTS WITH CEREBRO-ORGANIC SYNDROME CONTRIBUTES TO AN INCREASED CEREBRAL CAPACITY. |
